The global pandemic has brought many challenges to our vendors and customers. However, difficulty often leads to interesting innovation.

“It can be difficult to move forward and explore the next opportunity at a time when many of us are still bogged down by supply chain and other logistical challenges brought on by the global pandemic, but finding and addressing unique opportunities in spite of the challenges is one of the most gratifying aspects of our job.”

– Bob Butler, Baer & Associates

One of Baer & Associates more active packaging projects involves the marketing presentation of Acai (ah-sigh-ee), a fruit from palm trees in the South American Rainforest. The fruit’s popularity as a “superfood” has grown over recent years thanks to its rich antioxidants and high fiber content.

There are a broad array of claimed Acai health benefits now being studied, ranging from lowered cholesterol, to cancer resistance, to better brain function. Tasted as a raw fruit, the product may not have the mass appeal necessary for widespread demand. However, when used as primary ingredient in frozen sorbet or smoothies, Acai can be absolutely delicious.

Brite Harvest is a young thriving brand based in Elizabeth, New Jersey dedicated to new product development for Acai and other tropical fruits such as Mango, Coconut, and Pitaya (Dragon Fruit). Brite Harvest will offer a number of other products within the brand, such as Nutrition Bars and Boost Powders.

The Brite Harvest Acai Sorbet Bowl will be certified organic and is getting close to a widespread launch in grocery stores. Stay tuned for updates to this blog!

For Baer, it’s been a pleasure to work with such a high-energy company during the product development and packaging process. Stay tuned in coming weeks as Baer is able to share on the progress of this great new product development!
